Milan Cathedral

Milan Cathedral Duomo Madonnina Milan Cathedral or "Duomo" is the most famous cathedral in Italy and it is situated in the homonym square, Piazza Duomo. This is a Ghotic cathedral, surmounted by the famous "Madonnina", Milan's symbol.
A big imposing cathedral, built with Candoglia marble: on the façade you can witness its overshadowing pinnacles and different refined statues.
The interior is amazing, with coloured stained glass windows and a lot of chapels and tombs of important people from the past. The roof is opened for tourists to show them the amazing Milan sightseeing.
Its construction began in 1386 however, the cathedral was only finished in 1965.

The Sforza Castle

Sforza Castle is one of the most famous castles in Italy and one of the most famous attractions to visit in Milan.
Built in 1300 by duque of Milan Francesco Sforza, it has been modified by later generations and after the Second World War. The castle is surrounded by a medieval fosse and it is structured in a different tower, the most famous is the Bona di Savoia one.
The castle houses famous museums and gallery exhibitions, such as the museum of musical instruments and the furniture museum. The most famous one is Pinacoteca where you will find a really beautiful collection of paintings by Andrea Mantegna, Canaletto and other artists.

La Triennale

La Triennale of Milan is the most famous Milanese art, fashion and design museums.
La triennale is placed in a relaxing atmosphere. In the Art Palace inside, The Sempione Park, is one of the most peaceful Milanese green areas, which is closer to the Sforza Castle.
It hosts an amazing collection of Italian design and other beautiful art expositions.
It was established in 1923 and it is the Milan fashion and design symbol.

La Scala

La Scala is the one of the world's most famous opera house. This theatre was inaugurated in 1778 and a lot of famous conductors and singers have worked there as Arturo Toscanini, José Carrera, Maria Callas, Pavarotti and Placido Domingo.
La Scala's season opens traditionally on the 7th of December, Saint Amborse's day, the Milan patron saint. In the opulent and elegant theatre structure where you can find 2013 places it is also the head office of the Academy for the Performing Arts and of La Scale museum: costumes, paintings, drafts, and documents from the past of this amazing theatre.

Galleria Vittorio Emanuele

The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is a covered double arcade, finely decorated, it is one of the main fashion places of Milan with Via Montenapoleone and it takes its name from the first king of united Italy.
The gallery connects Piazza Duomo with Piazza della Scala and there you can find the most famous restaurants, bars and shops of Milan.

Via Montenapoleone

Via Montenapoleone is the most famous fashion street of Milan and it is compared to the 5th avenue in New York City. Via Montenapoleone is one the main streets of the Milan Fashion district with Via della Spiga: there you will find the most famous shops and brands as Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Dolce & Gabbana, Prada , luxurious jewellery shops and design ateliers.
If you want to go to shopping enjoying Italian fashion and design you can go also to Corso Buenos Aires and were you will find cheaper brands.

Brera Art Gallery

The Brera Art Gallery is the most famous Milan art collection and also one of the most beautiful gallery of Italy.
Brera Art Galley hosts one of the widest collection of Italian paintings, the most famous artworks of Mantegna, Raffaello, Modigliani e Botticelli.
This art gallery is hosted in a neoclassic building, raised from an ancient convent foundations of the XIV century.

The Last Supper

The Last Supper is the most famous Leonardo da Vinci's painting, a mural painting placed into the Refectory of Saint Maria delle Grazie in Milan.
This is one of the most famous painting around the world, also thanks to Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code. This painting portrays Jesus' s last supper with his Twelve Apostles and disciples before his death: one curiosity is that Leonardo has primly painted a lot of details that can be seen only from a really short-haul.

San Siro

The San Siro is the most famous Italian football stadium all over the world. It is Milan's and Inter's home football stadium.
San Siro is the third stadium in Europe and the tenth all around the world with its 85000 sitting places.
If you are a fan of sports and football there is also the San Siro Museum: a collection of attestations of the history of the stadium and of the football teams Milan and Inter with their flags, cups, jerseys and historic photographs.

Pirelli Tower

The Pirelli Tower is one of the highest modern building of Italy with its 127 metres and 31 floors.
It is one of the economical symbols of Milan and it is the head office of Lombardy region. In 2002 a plane crashed against the tower, destroying two floors.
The construction of the tower began in 1956 when Italy was experiencing an economic boom and was completed in 1958.
