Madrid Area Guide

The beautiful Spanish capital "Madrid" - is located in the heart of Spain and is also the highest laying city in Europe. The city has 3,228,359 habitants and even in the metropolis of Madrid are living more than 6 million "Madrileños” - the Spanish word for inhabitants. Area 1 Sol

The beautiful area Sol in Madrid is known for its KiloMetro Cero from which all distances in Spain are identified. One of the favourite attractions in Madrid is in the heart of the city, the main square, Puerta del Sol. This beautiful square is rebuilt in the 19th century, and very attractive by many tourists. Beside the beautiful Puerta del Sol you can find shopping areas and the famous square Plaza Mayor, a historic and very famous square that was built in the 17th century. This beautiful areas gives you the possibility to see the great and historic squares and at the same time you can have a nice shoping day or a nice dinner with your friends.


Area 2 Malasaña

Malasaña is a modern area in Madrid, with a growing number of art galleries and a unique selection of design and alternative shops. You can find also the best and most exciting night-life in Malasaña! Malasaña has many streets with the biggest pubs and clubs of Madrid. The streets around Plaza Dos De Mayo offers a wide choice of restaurants and bars, while Paseo De La Castellana a trendy selection of cocktails and night clubs offers. Nearby, is Arguelles-Moncloa Madrid's university area. It offers the giant department store El Corte Ingles, on the calle Princesa, in addition to the typical shopping and cheap restaurants. The most important monuments of Malasaña are the Templi The Debod and the wonderful Parque del Oeste. Area 3 Salamanca

Salamanca is the aristocratic barrio of Madrid, with prominent avenues such as Velazquez and Goya. Adjacent to the royal park, Parque Retiro offers a look of grandeur and creates a perfect shopping opportunity. You can find the most prestigious shops for fashion, jewellery and interior design as well upmarket restaurants and art galleries. The neighbouring district Alonso Martinez offers within a walking distance the most famous attractions of Madrid. Also the airport of Madrid is easily reachable with by public transport from this place.

Beside the Salamanca Area, offers Madrid you also the Sol and Malasaña areas. And even more areas like Chueca, Paseo Del Prado and Huertas.. In Chueca you can find many fashionable shops, traditional tavern-style bars and outdoor cafés. Paseo Del Prado offers the most beautiful and spectacular fountains, such as the Fountain of Neptune and Cibeles, this makes it a perfect place for a fantastic and relaxed walk. Huertas is a nice places in Madrid where you can find the finest tapas bars that are highly recommended. You can also find tavern-like cafés and restaurants, but the most popular part of Huertas are the several theatres, especially the famous Ballet Flamenco is a place where you can admire the most authentic Spanish Flamenco.
