The Atomium is the landmark of Brussels and is designed for the World exhibitionin Brussels in 1958 "Expo 58". The spheres of the Atomium respresent the atoms in the crystal lattice. Ordinary staircases and escalators connect the spheres together. In the Atomium you can visit the exhibition about "Expo 58". For a superb view over Brussels city you should definitely go to the Atomium!

Jérome Ducuesnoy designed in 1619 this touristic monument and in 1698 Manneke Pis received his first costume from the governor of Austrian Holland. Manneke Pis has for the moment more than 600 costums that are all kept in the King's House of the Urban Museum at the Grand Place.

The Grand place was in the 11th century the center of Brussels and was build on the drained swamp. The beautiful City Hall and the historic Broodhuis is located on the Grand Place. The Broodhuis used to be in the sixties a hall where bakers sold their bread. Chinese Pavilion and the Japanese Tower is a small museum where you can discover Chinese and Japanese art.
